Have been aware that I hadn't written. I hadn't created art. I hadn't dreamed. My therapist says I do dream but just haven't been remembering."

At this moment it feels right to write but not sure where to start or who may be interested. It's something, anyway.

My Spirit has been constipated. My body is exhausted, but am beginning to dream again. Just small every day happenings like talking to my mom about something she found. I'll think about having that conversation and then realizing it couldn't have happened since she's been gone so many years.

Being kinder to myself. Giving time to becoming more aware and allowing coincedence to happen.

Dad's advice when I was a teenager was this. "The Universe is going to keep giving you the lessons you are here to learn. It often begins with a small nudge, then a flick to the temple and progresses from there" I am a very stubborn human and that traight has served me, as well as struggle that may not have been necessary. Aw well. Live and learn.

Here are some of the things that I've participated in the last surprisingly short time. Last month I headed from Western Oregon to Yosemite California area to film the pilot episode of Manos: The Debbie Chronicles https://www.facebook.com/ManosDebbieChronicles . Had a great time and got to hang out with an amazing cast and crew. We are currently looking for a distributor and looking forward to creating more episodes. Looking forward to telling you more about it. See? Already more to talk about.

Immediately after getting home from California at 10:00pm, I threw a load of laundry in washer, went to bed. Then got up in the morning. repacked car and headed out for a small part in another film project in a very remote part of Idaho. Turned off the main highway after Boise and headed in the general direction of Canada and Montana. If I hadn't known better, I would have thought I was being sent out to a real life Manos situation. If fact, the town that was the base for filming is just over 500 people. The town I live in is 1000, and I thought that was small. So honored to work with another really great cast and crew on Under Three Moons, https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/under-three-moons-a-feature-film-by-tariya-wells#/

Looking forward to sharing more on that too.

Just a few days after getting home again, I filmed with Joe Sherlock, one of our producers and the Director of Photography for Manos Returns, which, by the way is on Amazon Prime Manos Returns

I've been in several of Joes very fun horror films over the years This time I get to be a host for a show about serial killers and this may be the first one I haven't died in. Joe made the filming for this as easy for me as he could. He came out to my little town and met me at the park on the river. Our good friend Rick came to assist. http://skullfaceastronaut.com/about-joe/

I've been taking acting classes from my dear friend Lisa Ovies and the incredible instructors at her school based out of Vancouver, BC. That opportunity in itself is remarkable. Many businesses have had to adjust and make a lot of change to survive. Lisa and her team shifted the studio to online workshops. Those workshops at Rogue Studios, would be impossible for me to attend from Oregon if not for technology... Just saying. Check them out.

Talk to you all soon, and will expand on all the above. :) If you like my story, please follow.

Thanks for reading.
DebbiesManoshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10281568498044694351noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1543930816445561229.post-12513957658999480602018-11-01T14:09:00.000-07:002018-11-01T14:20:21.450-07:00Missing The Master

I sure am missing my dad, Tom Neyman, lately. I have missed him all along but lately it feels more like he's around and sometimes it seems I can almost see him. As with many families, we had a complicated relationship. He was a deeply creative, deep thinking and often troubled man and I always knew he loved me even through the many years we were not able to be together or communicate it.
I've talked about this on occasion and I'll talk again on it soon but Manos The Hands of Fate really was the catalyst for dad and I to have time together in his last couple years. Manos related visits gave us time and gave us joy. The extra features we filmed for the Manos restoration, my book "Growing Up With Manos The Hands of Fate" and our new film, Manos Returns all exist because of that now fifty two year old terrible film and it's rediscovery by Mystery Science Theater in 1993.

Several significant dates are coming up this month. The Novenber 15, 1966 premiere of Manos The Hands of Fate. Tom Neyman, The Master November 23, 1935 to November 12 2016 https://news.avclub.com/r-i-p-tom-neyman-the-master-from-manos-the-hands-of-1798254319.

Manos held the title of worst movie ever made for many years and then was named the all time MST3K fan favorite at the 2016 November Turkey Day Awards. Perhaps it's time to name a day in November as Manos Day. Hmmm?

So, if somehow you haven't seen it yet, or you're feeling nostalgic, you can sit down right now and watch it on Netflix. MST3K on Netflix

I was in Denver a couple weeks ago for The Mads Are Back show, some recording with The Revival League Podcast and a book signing at a very cool video store The GoreHounds Playground. While there, I made some wonderful new friends, hung out with old friends and connected on new projects and ideas.

One the the best things that came from that trip is that now I have an Agent/ Manager. I believe a number of MST fans know her as the former Promoter/Agent for The Mads are Back and for opening the door for The Mads at The Alamo DraftHouses around the country. Zoe Plait is already booking my first show and I can't wait to share the dates and times soon. I'll take the
restoration of Manos to theaters and Universities with live commentary of the making of Manos from behind the scenes while pointing out the on screen mistakes that were not viewable before the quality of the restoration. We'll also offer Manos Returns for a double feature and of course, a question and answer period afterwards. Getting our first booking now and very excited to share the updates as they come in.

I went to a double feature of both films locally at the Darkside Cinema in Corvallis Oregon https://www.facebook.com/events/2202531306663923/ along with two of my other Manos returns producers, Tonjia Atomic Director and Joe Sherlock Director of Photography. A few of our cast and crew were there also. It was a blast watching both films with an audience and feeling the love.

There are many other things I want to share in the Manosverse but for now, I've got to get back to the doing of it all but promise to be back soon with more. Thanks for reading!

Hey all,
I have been totally immersed in a new and involved project lately and apologize for not writing during that time. This project opens a whole new world of expression that gives me a platform for many of the ways I create and I want to share my beginning steps with you now. You Tube has had my attention for some time, as it has many, many peoples attention and that increased alot when I had an opportunity to go to an event a couple months ago at YouTube Space LA where I met a number of successful YouTubers and hear a few of their stories. I left energized and inspired and thinking about how I could build my own channel as a way to express myself in ways I always only imagined was possible.
So I went to school on it while thinking of what type of content to post and how to even begin. As chance or fate would arrange it, my daughter in law would be with me for almost four hours every day during the week while her son, my grandson is in pre school and she is with the baby, my granddaughter. We decided to work together and it turns out she has mad video and computer skills. We make a crazy amazing team in my book. Anyhow, I will keep this short today because I would like to think my You Tube channel will speak for itself. Remember, this is just the beginning and I ask you to please "Like" and "Subscribe" and help me build my YouTube empire. It will only get more entertaining. I promise.
Thank You So Much!

Some amazing things were just posted on Facebook by two different Manos Fans. These articles and the Camelot playbill brought a flood of memory back as though it was all just yesterday. Some of these things, I talked about in my book Growing Up With Manos The Hands of Fate but I had not found these articles and playbill when I was writing and when I was researching. I want share them with you here.
I'll begin with Henry IV, the play where Manos: The Hands of Fate took flight. Hal Waren had written the script and had titled it Fingers of Fate, but when he participated in the Festival Theater stage production of Henry IV, he knew then, he was ready to make his film.

Yes. You read that title correctly. There is Manos burlesque.

Mystery Science Theater Burlesque to be more precise, but a Manos themed Torgo performance logically had to be included.

I was so honored to be asked to host the MSTease3k show that played in Portland Oregon on August 17th at Crush Bar to a full house and very enthusiastic audience. I've been to a few shows and have some good friends among the performers but being on stage with them this time was truly special.

In this post, I want to highlight all the performers that night because they are all so amazing. First of all if you've never been to a burlesque show, it may not be what you imagine. Of course, it's sexy as all get out but it is so much more. Burlesque is empowering for not only those on stage, but for us in the audience as well when we see both traditional and non traditional beauty explode onto the stage with an outward shining confidence. It gives you a feeling that maybe you, yourself might also find courage to step outside the comfort zones in your own life. Maybe find a way to express your inner creative passions. By the end of the evening, my face hurt from smiling so much and as I looked around I saw a roomful with the same look.

I was invited to host this show by the producer Mona DePlume, a MSTie who created this show for MSTies. Mona is the Queen of Awkward Boners, known for creating some really trippy and consciousness bending acts that mess with your head. She has done Bob Ross as a burlesque performance and in this show she portrayed both Rosdower and Torgo. Mona is also an instructor at the Rose City School of Burlesque and she was a guest on a recent episode of my Jackeys Hand of Horror Podcast.

Another performer is a sweet friend of mine. We met on facebook years ago because she's a Manos fan and we got talking. She went on to graduate from both The Rose City School of Burlesque and All That Glitters Academy then began performing where I got to go see her a few times and became a fan of hers. For this show, I was proud to introduce her on stage as "The Dizzy Dame with the Dynamite Frame. It's Loxie Arcane!" She did a Pearl act with her husband, Mr. Arcane performing as Brain Guy. Loved it and love how husbands, wives and partners get worked into the act. Loxie will perform again at Crush Bar on October 13th for That's Monster a Frankenstein Burlesque Story and in Gods and Monsters Burlesque on October 20th

Baby LeStrange is the Glittering Misfit of Burlesque with a unique and very sexy Queen ant act inspired by MST episode nine, the film Phase IV. Baby is a longtime Portland performer and can be seen in Renee's Queer Caberet on August 30th Metalesque Heavy Metal Burlesque show at Dante's on October 4th.

The next performer traveled North from Eugene and performs a fantastic monthly show Miss Minskys Presents with the next one on September 22. She is Bayou Bettie, The Giantess from Emerald City with the bayou in her blood. For this MSTease3k show, Bayou Bettie transformed into a most regal and excellent sassiest robot on The Satellite of Love, MST3k Gypsy.

The Superhero of Sparkle was the next performer. Traveling South from Seattle, Washington, Scarlett O'HairDye was thrilled to bring her longtime MSTie dream to the stage. Space Mutiny...Burlesue Style.
Absolutely click this link to see just some of what this woman an do! Unnatural Redhead Productions

I had a great back stage chat with the Delectable Dynamo - Dominoe Desoto and her Girl in the Golden Boots act was The Bomb. If you missed this show, go see Dominoe back at Crush for Totally Naked on September 21st. Dominoe is also a graduate from both the Rose City School of Burlesque and All The Glitters Academy. You can see her perform again on August 24th in Pink Elephant Caberet at Mission Theater.

Next up was the Bookish Beauty of Burlesque...Lacey Knickers. Lacey did a Kinga character act that wold make the original Kinga blush, but in a good way. Lacey can be thought of as burlesque for the intellectual. If you think smart is not sexy,...check this out. Booklovers Burlesque and if you are a child of the 70's and muppets turn you on, this is the show for you. Glitter Fever Disco Inspired Burlesque September 22.

Beyond all this, I want to thank
Door Madame - Lou Velvet
Stage Kitten - Lascivious Lenore
Lights and Sound - DJ Dom De Plume
...and the support staff at Crush

I arrived in El Paso on Friday afternoon and was picked up at the airport by a sweet young man holding a cardboard sign with my name on it. We went for some amazing local tacos and then on to the hotel to meet with Ben Solovey and work out what would happen next. Since the official screening event that had been scheduled for the next evenng had already been cancelled, he was looking into other possibilities.
Later that evening, Phil again contacted the Director of the El Paso Classic Film Festival saying they shouldn’t cancel and something could be worked out. He then
gave his conditions.
First, Ben must be banned from the entire festival and his photo
distributed to all security personel.
Second: I was to call Phil and the lawyers
back in order to receive a script to promote the sequel The Search For Valley Lodge.
Third: the Film Festival had
to get Joe Warren (Even though he had not yet been born at the time it was made) there by the next night night to join me on stage to talk about his
dad’s film.

Those conditions would take all the time I was scheduled for on stage.

Bully tactics were not going to work. The response from the El Paso side of things was a resounding No.

The Manos screening had originally been scheduled for Saturday night as the last film of the evening at The Plaza Theater. On Saturday morning, arrangements were made
across the street from the theater in the ballroom of the El Camino Real Hotel
to set up a screen and seats and show Manos as planned, but for free. That evening, a couple of the festival volunteers were in front of the theater to refund ticket holders money and the people were then sent across the street to the hotel ballroom. A couple more volunteers were posted outside an earlier outdoor screening of Rocky Horror Picture Show where they distributed flyers directing them to the free Manos screening down the block. All in all, about 350 people showed up for the Manos Restoration, some of them in Rocky Horror costume. The hotel rolled a portable bar into the back of the room and the audience was able to enjoy cocktails as well. Ben and I ended up hanging out with the audience for a couple hours after the show, just visiting and answering questions. We learned later that had we done the screening as originally planned in the theater, we would have been kicked out right after so they could ready the place for the next days film lineup. Seems we lucked out after all.

All in all it was an amazing time and The Will of Manos came through as it always seems to do. Manos sees all. Manos knows all.

Here is something cool I found while googling myself on the internet. What a nice video about my book Growing Up With Manos The Hands Of Fate https://youtu.be/IwxZQG9MZT4

By the end of 2011, Philip had enough money to do another
shoot so he assembled the main cast including Gene Snitsky of WWE fame, Ryan Jimmo of MMA, Bryan
Jennings the son of the original Manos Sheriff, Diane Mahree who played
Maggie in the original, Bernie Rosenblum, the kissing guy in the car/cameraman, and me. We also had Jay Lee, Rick Zunck, the
documentary team, Phil, some local actors and support. We all assembled in El Paso for five days to do those scenes. By that time, I had a clearer view of Phil’s
business strategies and what he termed as his “wacky deals” while often boasting his great negotiation skills. During the five days in El Paso, Gene Snitsky quit and was
convinced to come back, Jay Lee, our director quit and then decided to finish
the scheduled shoot because that's who he is.
Our El Paso coordinator, David
Garcia quit while we were in El Paso and Phil convinced him back because we
could not have completed our work there without him. David arranged everything!

Our leader massaged every story so he was never at fault
when things don’t go well by painting himself as either a victim or as just
wacky Uncle Phil who wants the best for everyone and in his excitement,
sometimes makes little mistakes. When backed into a corner or accused, he would
strike out turning the tables with belittling comments, negative pointed
remarks and then finally indifference as in “Well, if you don’t want to do
this, fine, we’ll just go find another Debbie" or "It is what it is”. When things were
going well, he would create stories using fictional people as great supporters, or embellish a small detail to appear as the hero.

Sometime around then he began talking of doing a restoration of
the original claiming he had found a copy of the film. He told me that Bernie
Rosunblum, the original photographer on Manos, had a copy and he (Phil) was
working on a deal to obtain it. Bernie then had a stroke in Nov 2011 upon which
Phil called his wife and said “Well, too bad about Bernie. Guess he can’t be in
our movie now”. She was so upset that they refused to speak to him again. Phil called me after that to say “I think I put
my foot in my mouth” After then went to Rifftrax to see if he could work a deal
with them to get that copy and restore it with his help so they could be
partners, with them footing the bill. Rifftrax then obtained their own copy
somewhere and cut him out. About the
same time, I heard about Ben Solovey, a young film student in Los Angeles who
had found the original Manos workprint in an ebay auction in a box full of old films. He then set out to raise money and
restore his print. I told Phil he should connect with Ben and that maybe they
could work together and help each other since they had the same idea of
restoring it. Phil ignored that and then posted on his website that he was
already doing a restoration and then he began talking about Ben as some creepy
kid. When Phil realized that Ben had raised over $45,000. in less than 3 months
on Kickstarter for his restoration, Phil contacted Ben. At first friendly, then
began to threaten him saying he (Phil) had found the original copyright to
Manos and that Ben better team up with him and give him the rights or he would
take it by force.

Phil told me he had the copyright and three of the best
attorney’s in Hollywood working Pro Bono on the case. Those attorneys agreed he had a valid copyright. He also said he had created a partnership with Joe Warren, Hal Warren's son to
do this and that Joe now could demand licensing fees from anyone doing anything
with Manos from here on. I expressed concern about how that would affect me, my
planned career concerning Manos and all the projects people created out of love
for the film. He said that I could be assured that Joe
listens to him and he would make sure that Joe shares with dad and I any money that
comes from the licensing, etc. I did not believe any of that and began my own
research as to what I can and can’t do regardless of their claims. Also, during
all this, I learned that Phil was claiming publicly that he was in charge of dad and I and that we would not do anything without his permission. He represented
us to Rifftrax in this manner. When I heard about that, I told him he
clearly has no right to say that and does not represent us. He became very angry, yelling that we are supposed to be a team and stick together and if
I didn’t want to be part of the family, so be it. I wouldn’t get to share in
the future bounty and could merely be an actress in his film. He also expressly
forbade me to communicate with Ben Solovey who I had become friends with.

Many other things were going on at the same time that I wasn't aware of until later. Suddenly I'm told that Rifftrax is doing a live show of Manos in Nashville in June 2012 and that Rupert Munch Senior (remember him? It's in part one so I'll wait if you need to go back) will get to do a Torgo Skit for the audience and that the trailer for his Manos sequel will screen. I was told I need to be there. My reply was that as things presently stood, I didn't think I should. I was told (again) that he could just go get another Debbie. My answer to that was one of the few satisfactions I got to feel up to that point. "Good luck with that. I am Debbie"

Soon after that, I was contacted by the El Paso Film Festival about making an appearance at the annual Classic Film Festival where I would be a
special guest on August 5th 2012 for the screening of Bens restoration, and to talk about my role in the original.

They would be showing Ben’s restoration and I knew Phil
would have a fit so I didn’t tell him knowing that if I gave him an
opportunity he would sabotage it. Ben decided he would tell Phil and get it
over with several weeks before the show so that he would have time to deal with
any interference. Phil then demanded a $10,000. licensing fee from Ben in order
to proceed. Ben refused and then ignored him after his (Ben’s) IP lawyer looked at
the “copyright” saying it was nothing more than an application and therefore
not valid. As I was boarding my plane to El Paso from Portland, Oregon on
Friday afternoon August 4th, the Artistic Director of The El Paso Film Festival
called me and said they had just received a call from Phil. His
lawyers were insisting the screening of Manos be canceled because it would be
illegal to proceed and since the Film Festival was in full swing, there
was no time to investigate, especially because they were contacted late Friday
afternoon. I got on that plane having no idea what was coming next.
I first learned of Philip Francis from a music video he had
posted on You Tube titled “Take it Easy, Manos Style” in June 2010, which can be
seen right here. Take it Easy: Torgo Style

I contacted Philip through
the wonders of the internet and he gave me a phone number asking that I call to
discuss a project he was working on.
When I called, the person who answered had me hold while he got another
guy with an odd New Zelandish/ Australian type accent who told me his name was
Rupert Munch Senior. He said he was the
guy who created the music video and who played Torgo. He went on to say he had
several projects in the works concerning Manos and wanted to know if I would be
interested in participating. I told him
that I was interested in anything Manos. About then, the accent dropped and he
revealed he was the initial person who had answered the phone. A bit eccentric, but what the hell. It’s about Manos. He told me he had attended ComicCon as Torgo and
had the idea he would continue developing his version of the character. He was hoping to connect with Rifftrax, Cinamatic Titanic and anyone else in an effort to create some projects with support. Torgo at San Diego Comic Con Over the next year he wrote a
script that included my dad and I and anyone else from the original he could
find. We spoke often as his plan
developed and he went on and on about how, if his film ever made money that my
dad and I would be compensated with percentages that are unheard of in the
movie business and how everyone thought he was crazy to offer so much, that
nobody but him would do such a thing. All verbally and without stating what kind of
numbers he was talking about. We would
share in all the merchandising and that he had already worked a deal with an
action figure company to make our action figures. He asked if I would be
interested as an artist to create the art and many of the props for his film as
my dad did in the original. I would be able to sell copies of my work with his
help and make more money. His script was titled Manos, Search for Valley Lodge
and I had agreed to play the lead role of Debbie Morgan, the grown version of
little Debbie from the original Manos. He began collecting other notable cast
members, found a Director of Photography, put some money together to get
started and began making tangible plans for shooting his film. He convinced my
dad, Tom Neyman to reprise his role of the Master in a cameo scene and sent him
$500.00 as an enticement. In May 2011 he came to Oregon for 4 days to shoot my
dad’s scene because my dad was unwilling to travel away from his family. The
group that came to Oregon was Philip, Jay Lee our Director of Photography and a
documentary crew who are making a documentary about the sequel to “The Worst
Movie Ever Made”. They all stayed at my home and the home of my friend, Rick
Zunck who was chosen as Assistant Director of Photography. Philip convinced Joe
Warren, Hal Warren’s son
(Hal, the director of the original Manos, died in December 1985) to loan us the original Master’s robe he had so my dad could
wear it for his scene. We were thrilled to see it again and to know it had been
so well cared for, but were sad to have
to send it back since that was the deal Philip had made. That was when we learned that Joe had The Masters
painting and it, too was safe, but we would never have it back either.

If I was blind to all the red flags up to then, I should have
seen them on that first shoot. Four days
for one scene. Granted, it was a The
Master and Torgo scene, but still.

I just got back from my epic Southern California trip yesterday afternoon. Three weeks all together and I interviewed six different people for my Jackey's Hand of Horror podcast including Dwane Whitaker, the pawn shop dealer in Pulp Fiction. I only say that for reference. Dwane and I had a great chat on a number of subjects. That episode will air on Thursday July 26th. https://soundcloud.com/handofhorropodcast

I had an amazing last minute opportunity to attend a panel at the Los Angeles You Tube Space that was moderated by Felicia Day, who I was honored to meet and chat with briefly afterward. The panel was "The All Female Showrunners Panel" and included Willow Polson who is creating the new project we're working on. I talk a bit about that a couple blog posts ago.

For the big event, I attended San Diego Comic Con last Thurday, Friday and Saturday as part of the Pulsar Entertainment booth to promote the upcoming Web Series and Comic Book titled Manos: The Debbie Chronicles.
It was an incredible experience in so many ways. Was a blast hanging out at the table and seeing how many people figured out that I was the little girl in Manos and The Master is my dad. Wish I had a Go Pro set up to get the reactions, as it would make a funny compilation of surprised expressions.
The networking over those three days was more than hoped for and will take some time to absorb and organize. The energy, crush of people, sound and visuals were at a constant maximum making the whole event both exhilerating and exhausting. Fortunately, the two day drive home to Oregon gave me some good time to reflect and sort it out.

Just got back yesterday afternoon and am already hitting the ground running. Much to do for all that is coming.

Enjoy the photos of San Diego Comic Con and I'll be back next Torgo Tuesday.
Short post today because I'm preparing for San Diego Comic Con. Not only is it hard to believe I'm actually going, but that I'm going as part of a really cool project.

Short post too, because I can't say much about that project yet, other than it is both a web series and a comic book, titled Manos: The Debbie Chronicles. Very much looking forward to sharing a lot more about this upcoming weekend where I'll be signing at the Pulsar Entertainment LLC booth #1235 at San Diego Comic Con, July 19 - 22. I plan to be there all four days so if you attend, I hope you'll stop by.

While you're here now though, I hope you'll check out my Jackey's Hand of Horror podcast. I'm still on a learning curve (but who isn't?) and feeling really good about the development. We still have some polishing to do but I love the segments, the ideas, the special guests and my team. Enjoy.
For the next upcoming episode I had the great pleasure of chatting with Duane Whitaker who played the pawn shop owner in Pulp Fiction and yesterday I interviewed an amazing young woman with a popular YouTube channel for another episode.
See you all next Torgo Tuesday when I tell you all about San Diego Comic Con and share a few photos. One goal is to get a better photo with Felicia Day than the one I got a couple weeks ago. 😜 She looked fine. Me? Not so much.
I make a goal of getting a blog post out on Torgo Tuesday's, but if you follow me here, you'll know that's not always the case. Sometimes it's more like Wobbly Wednesday and even missing a week or three altogether when there's too much going on to sit down. Time just slips away.
In this case, Tuesday turned into a really busy day and Wobbly Wednesday became catch up day. No idea yet what to call Thursday.

I'm in Southern California for a couple weeks and for San Diego Comic Con next weekend. When coming down here for extended times, I try to arrange meetings and visits with people in the area to make the best use of my time as possible. At this point, between all my connections and upcoming projects here and other connections and projects in Washington State, Oregon makes a nice home base. Good thing I've got a great car and enjoy road trips.
Tuesday became much more than I had expected. I had an appointment in Studio City to interview Duane Whitaker
on Jackey's Hand of Horror Podcast. We had a fun visit and catch up. The first time we met was in April when we were both guests at Cinema Wasteland in Cleveland. Although Duane's biggest claim to fame is as the pawn shop owner in Pulp Fiction, he is a writer, producer and acting coach as well.

I did pretty well heading back to where I'm staying with a bit over an hour drive, and was feeling a little proud of myself when a message came through my facebook chat from Willow Polson, creator of a new web series titled Manos: The Debbie Chronicles and instigator of a comic series with the same title. She says, "Did you get the invitation?" After a string of confused back and forth, we realized I never received the email inviting me to an event in Los Angeles (an hour and 45 away) that looked pretty cool. Problem was, the event started in 3 hours at YouTube Space Los Angeles. After a brief internal struggle and with the realization that Felicia Day would be moderating the event, I jumped into action. I got myself ready and back on the road headed much the way I had just come. What a great event it was. I met so many forward moving and successful women in writing, film, You Tube and social media. The All Women Showrunners' Panel was so full of information and inspiration tht I am still riding that wave and ready to go ahead with some new ideas. While there, I made sure to introduce myself to Felicia. Debbie finally got to meet Kinga. So great that I was a bit tongue tied, which is rare for me. Managed to remember to get a photo but my rushed planning ensured my phone would die at any moment for lack of a charge but managed to get a quick one snapped. Not my most flattering but can't resisit sharing. Heard she'll be at San Diego Comic Con next week with the Shout Factory booth so I'll see if I can get another chance.
It's been a while since I last wrote. Busy, busy.

First of all, I had some Manos Returns Kickstarter fulfillment to do. We all had been assembling the rewards for a few weeks and once the final items arrived, it was go time. My house became the fulfillment center and I became the staff. I had the lists, the packaging, the merchandise and a "planning how to ship" conversation with the one employee at our tiny Post Office. Was exhausting, but the whole thing worked remarkably well. A few days later the backers began posting about how much they liked our film and how we had honored the original film, the original cast/crew and the fans. Best News Ever!
Manos Returns had another screening a couple weeks ago. This time, in Seattle at The Grand Cinema. My co-writers, Tonjia Atomic our director, and Rachel Jackson assistant director got to do a little Q and A with the small but enthusiastic audience. The screening was great and our audience responded in such delightful ways at the moments we would have hoped. My sister Juli came with me and we all had a great time. Best Team Ever!
Just a few days after coming home from that trip, my new granddaughter made the decision to be born two weeks early. I had talked to her previously about being sure to cooperate with my travel schedule and happily she did. I was able to be there when she came into this world and one of the first to hold little 4 lb, 15 oz. Kylie Ivy Raye Jones.
I continue to develop my new podcast, Jackey's Hand of Horror while learning so much alongside co- hosts Rachel Jackson, Tonjia Atomic, Nuria Aguilar and my granddaughter, Araydia with each episode. I just had another birthday yesterday and turned 59 years old. I can honestly say that Manos is helping me to improve my health and I'm doing pretty good for 59. Am very excited about what this next year will hold and for the projects that I cannot talk about yet. A willingness for new things all the time, a vast curiosity to learn, and joy of sharing is what is keeping me young. Thanks for coming along on this journey with me. That's what makes it fun.

This year is busier than I've ever been doing Manos related things. Maybe that's not exactly true. This is just a time when the accumulation of previous efforts are coming to the forefront and because of it, I'm traveling more.

So far this year, I was a celebrity guest at Cinema Wasteland in Cleveland April 6, 7 and 8th. It is a small but mighty event with fervent film fans. They love the obscure stuff and I found many Manos fans among them. Cinema Wasteland Blogpost

My fellow producers, Tonjia Atomic, Rachel Jackson, Joe Sherlock and I premiered Manos Returns at Crypticon Seattle on May 4th. I also had a table as a guest for the weekend so we had a base. We all got to hang out with much of our cast and crew for a fabulously fun filled weekend. Crypticon Seattle Blogpost
and take a listen to my newish podcast, Jackey's Hand of Horror on Soundcloud. https://soundcloud.com/handofhorropodcast/jhoh-episode-7-crypticon On this most recent episode, we discuss all things Manos Returns and Crypticon. I'm really happy with how the podcast is evolving and I especially love this episode.

This last weekend, I was a guest at Meadowlark Comic Con, the first of it's kind in Medford Oregon. I drove to Medford and spent Friday night so as to be prepared for the May 12th Saturday event. Meadowlark Comic Con . It was small as was expected for the first year but the people who came really enjoyed it. There were a lot of kids in costume to meet the pink and yellow Power Rangers. I saw a little hulk and even a princess or two running around. The whole event was very well organized and I felt comfortable and welcomed.
The main celebrity guest was Mindy Sterling who is a charming and very engaging person. She loved interacting with fans posing for photos with them. I could kick myself for not getting a photo with her. We were both busy the whole day and then I packed up to drive home right after. (The next day was Mother's Day and my kids had plans)

. Although I didn't get to visit with her much, she did agree to interview with me for my Jackey's Hand of Horror Podcast on an upcoming episode. I can't wait to chat with her and talk about her career and life.

This is coming right up on Saturday May 26 Destiny City Freaky Con I will be there along with the producers of Manos Returns from 4 to 8 pm at Destiny City Comics in Tacoma Washington and then for a Manos Returns Screening at The Grand Cinema at 11pm Manos Returns Screening Will be a blast watching it again with an audience and this time in a real theater!

Here is another project that I am hoping comes to fruition. A web series titled Manos: The Debbie Chronicles. Will keep you posted as the news comes my way. If the kick starter for Candivan succeeds...This will happen.
Manos: The Debbie Chronicles Web Series

The new Bigfoot film Primal Rage Bigfoot Reborn is now available for rent on Amazon. I had a small part, got most of my family in as extras and got to be a location coordinator. It's a small thing but I was honored to be invited. If you watch it, our scenes involve the tipi.

and... here's something else in the works. A new comic book creation by Pulsar Entertainment. I am planning to be at San Diego Comic Con as part of their booth and to promote the project. Right now, they have launched a contest, so, if you know anyone talented in the arena of the comic book world, here's something that may be of interest. Manos: The Debbie Chronicles Comic Book Contest . The winner gets some cash and a pass to San Diego Comic Con. Hope to see you there.

One other thing I am just getting organized to do, is to write a screenplay based on my book, Growing Up With Manos The Hands of Fate How I was the child start of the worst movie ever made and lived to tell the story. I am inspired by both I, Tonya and The Disaster Artist. The back story of Manos is every bit as interesting, and I think, pretty damn funny. While you're waiting for this new idea, you can order a personalized and signed copy of my book from me paypal.me/JackeyNeymanJones/23 $23. includes shipping within the U.S.

As busy I am with all these things, I've still got to do other things as well, to make a living. As creative people know, you throw a whole lot out and hope some sticks. I'm still teaching some painting classes and need to get back to creating new art. It all goes in waves, but overall, I lead a pretty interesting existence and wouldn't have that part of it any other way.

If you are a regular here, you know I try to write and post on Torgo Tuesday's. However this week, Torgo is way slower than usual and we are going to call this a Torgo Thursday. Doesn't have quite the same ring to it but it's the best I can do this week.

Last weekend, me and nearly the whole Manos Returns cast and crew went to Crypticon Seattle for the World Premiere of Manos Returns. I cannot speak for anyone else, but it has taken nearly all week to recover. We had just so much fun, and if I'm going to be traveling as much as I expect to in the future, I had better learn to pace myself better.
Me with director Tonjia Atomic
I arrived at the Seattle Doubletree Hotel on Friday May 4th in the afternoon to set up my table and to meet up with others I knew were coming. There was surprise after surprise when people I wasn't expecting arrived as well, like Steven Shields, our Torgo
The screening was scheduled for 9 pm that night and when we showed up, there was a large group already waiting. I was told later that the venue had to bring in about 20 more chairs to accommodate them all.
Here they are

I had been excited about the screening but not at all nervous because I was so proud of the work everyone did to make this film happen. At that point, I felt satisfied and wasn't dependent on the audience to validate our efforts but I do have to say it was pretty incredible feeling when we watched it together and I got to experience the first audience firsthand.

They were so wonderful. They laughed when we hoped they would, clapped and were just so engaged from beginning to end. I'm sure every audience won't be this loving but I definitely count this as a very good sign. For the rest of the weekend, they sought us out to let us know how much they enjoyed it. We cannot wait to share it with everyone. As of now, we are working on distribution and will announce all over the place when it is available on DVD. In the meantime, if you know a venue near you where we can screen Manos Returns, please let me know either here or on facebook at Manos Returns. We would love to bring it to you and all Manos fans.

Manos Returns has taken a while to return, but considering we were writng a script and running a Kickstarter less than two and a half years ago and that now we have a completed project on budget? Now that's a pretty good achievement. I'm so proud that we delivered the online link to our Kickstarter backers before anyone else gets to see it...as promised, and proud of my production team and our cast and crew. Not only did we deliver as we said we would, we made a good film. Although, we had a pretty good idea, we are happy our backers have confirmed, and now, I cannot wait to share at Crypticon Seattle this Friday night for the World Premiere of Manos Returns.

Manos Returns World Premiere

The whole project began with the idea of bringing together the remaining original actors and giving them the opportunity to do something better than the film that made them famous, and having an opportunity to connect with the long lived fan base. The Master was on board and we were blessed to get his part filmed while he was still strong, We were so fortunate to be able to celebrate him and give him an idea of how much he is appreciated at our Manos Returns cast and crew party.

Diane Mahree came to play Maggie again

Today, as I pack and get ready to head to Seattle, I am reminded of where this whole journey began. On that first premiere night in November 1966, no one could ever had imagined where things might go from there.

In the Spring of 1966 a low budget movie was filmed in the desert outside El Paso Texas with a group of community theater actors and a guy with a script and a rented camera. In November of the same year, the finished film premiered downtown El Paso at the beautifully classic Capri Theatre. Everyone was there. The Mayor, the police chief and his wife, the press. The writer, director and star of the film Hal Warren had thought of everything. In the week before, he had displayed The Master's robe, the painting and a few other props at the local Luby's restaurant. Chances are, the display just confused the "SundayGoingToDinner" crowd. The night of the premiere, Hal had spotlights in front of the theatre that he had borrowed from the local car dealership. The lights scanned the sky while the autograph seekers were seeking someone important. Hal had hired the small non english speaking Native born children who usually made a living selling gum or washing windshields downtown on the Mexican border. He supplied them with small pads of paper and stubby pencils in order to collect the prized autographs. Hal had a red carpet from the front of the theatre to the street and rented a limo to transport the actors to the front of the theatre. One limo... We all were instructed to wait in the alley behind the theatre while the limo came around and picked up a few at a time and dropped us off on the red carpet with the autograph seekers. I was only seven at the time, but I remember thinking "Am I the only one who realizes how ridiculous this is?" My mom and I, and obviousy all the other women, had spent the day in the beauty parlor getting prepared for this momentous occasion so there were photos taken outside in the spotlights before everyone went in and took their seats. We got one really nice promo shot inside the theatre before the lights went down. I love this moment frozen in time before the film began, when we all, collectively finally realized just what we had got ourselves into.

<span style="color: black; font-family: "abadi" , sans-serif; font-size: 12.0pt; letter-spacing: 0.3pt;">This horror series is based off of the 1966
cult-classic Manos: The Hands of Fate, considered by many to be the worst movie
ever made (scoring even lower on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes than The Room).<span style="color: black; font-family: "abadi" , sans-serif; font-size: 10.5pt; letter-spacing: 0.3pt;">

<span style="color: black; font-family: "abadi" , sans-serif; font-size: 12.0pt; letter-spacing: 0.3pt;">The coolest part? One of the last surviving
actors, Jackey Neyman Jones, who plays Debbie in the original film, is the star
of the new series. Despite its epically low ratings, the movie has a huge cult
following because to put it simply––it’s fascinating! If you haven't seen it
yet, you can watch the full film on YouTube, and Mystery Science Theater has a
must-watch wet-your-pants funny episode on it.<span style="color: black; font-family: "abadi" , sans-serif; font-size: 10.5pt; letter-spacing: 0.3pt;">

<span style="color: black; font-family: "abadi" , sans-serif; font-size: 12.0pt; letter-spacing: 0.3pt;">The series creator, Willow Polson, is doing
something even more unexpected; she's taking the worst movie ever made and
turning it into a force for good! This dark reimagining focuses on what
happened after Debbie escaped the evil clutches of The Master and the
primordial god Manos. But Debbie won't have to do it all alone -- she now has a
very unique and unusual team that helps her take down evil, whatever form it
may take. <span style="color: black; font-family: "abadi" , sans-serif; font-size: 10.5pt; letter-spacing: 0.3pt;">

Torgo Tuesday is Debbies Manos blog day, but for this week we'll call it Wobbly Wednesday. I'm off kilter only because all the things I've worked so hard to bring to fruition are coming about at pretty much the same time and it's a challange to keep up.

This week is about a fantastic trip where I was a guest at Cinema Wasteland in Strongville, Ohio just outside of Cleveland. It's a small but very mighty family run show that's been going on for about 12 years. The organizer, Ken, and his crew were so gracious and attentive, that I really felt spoiled and kept teasing that they were ruining me for other events. I imagine myself walking into another event with my chin up and saying "Do you know who I think I am?"

My sense of humor runs to the bizarre and odd, so my experience upon arrival in Cleveland cracked me up. As the plane was landing, a conversation began with the man sitting next to me and we realized we were going to the same event. I told him that I was to call the organizers upon arrival to be sure a shuttle from the hotel would be there to pick us up and if he waited at baggage for me we could find the bus together. I made my way there and while watching the bags go around, thought I spotted the guy so walked up, leaned over and said "The shuttle is on it's way". His head whipped around, he looked at me and said "What?" So, while still watching the bags go around, I said again in a conspirital way, "The shuttle is on it's way" and without another glance, I slowly moved away. As I looked toward the crowd in a different direction, I saw the actual guy I had been sitting next to.
Now it dawns on me that the one I spoke to is completely puzzled and probably thinking that I am either a spy talking code or maybe I am completely nuts and saying the shuttle from space will be here soon to take us away. I do hope he came up with a good story to tell and that maybe it made his trip to Ohio a little more interesting.

I was especially thrilled for Michael Berryman to be there as a guest as well. I had met him when he was at Crypticon Seattle a couple years ago and where he took time to advise me and talk about guesting at conventions. Now, two years later, I have been taking his advice. Was really great to have an opportunity to let him know how helpful he had been and how much I appreciated that. He also has agreed to interview soon, for my Jackey's Hand of Horror Podcast . He is one of the most genuine celebrities I have met so far and so interesting to talk with. Can't wait for our interview.

I also met Dee Wallace and got her to agree to an interview as well. Another very sweet and gracious person that I feel so honored to be able to connect with. She has written a few inspirational books and I just ordered this one on Kindle. Bright Light: Spiritual Lessons from a Life in Acting
<span style="font-family: "arial"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">

<span style="font-family: "arial"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">The show ran Friday afternoon/evening, Saturday and Sunday. Although the event was small, it was really well attended by fans of film, and especially more obscure type film so I fit right in. Seems most who came were aware of Manos The Hands of Fate and the ones who weren't familiar were interested in learning more. I literally drank a gallon of water on Friday because of talking to fans so much. It was a blast.
<span style="font-family: "arial"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">

<span style="font-family: "arial"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">On Friday evening, I headed to the hotel elevator to go to my room. The was a group of young men having an enthusiastic conversation while waiting for the doors to open and they were clearly having a great time. A couple of them had on some costuming including one with a wig and bloody lab coat. When the doors opened, they crowded on and then scrunched together to make more space while waving me on. 3rd floor for them. 6th for me. Somehow, the 3rd floor button didn't get pushed so the ancient slow elevator made it's way all the way to the 6th floor. When the doors opened, one of them said "Would you like us to walk you to your room?" Hahaha. They were adorable.

<span style="font-family: "arial"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">
<span style="font-family: "arial"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">On Saturday, a friend I had never met but known for seven years drove several hours to come meet me in person. Joey Basford Founder of Manos The Hands of Fate fan Club of Facebook. I have met facebook friends a few times at various happenings and it's so interesting to me how when we finally meet, it's not so very different. It is that you already know them. Loved seeing him and and having a little time to visit.
<span style="font-family: "arial"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">
<span style="font-family: "arial"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Derrick Carey, editor of our new film, Manos Returns also came to meet me in person and to bring some friends with him. He did an incredible job on the film and was wonderful to get to meet him in person finally.
<span style="font-family: "arial"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">

<span style="font-family: "arial";">This was the first Con I've been invited to where it was farther than I could drive and I wasn't sure how much stuff to take with me for the table and to sell. The books were the bulky thing and I didn't want to carry a bunch home if they didn't sell but apparently I miscalculatred because I sold most of them on Friday and the Manos screening wasn't until Saturday afternoon. Fortunately I had a stack of large envelopes with me, so had the buyer write their address, and mailed them when I got home Monday. Now I know to ship the books to the hotel in advance so I'm not carrying them. Learning!
<span style="font-family: "arial";">

<span style="font-family: "arial";">So many great experiences. Met a whole lot of appreciative fans, made connections for screenings of Manos Returns in some independent theaters, was invited to participate in some upcoming independent film projects, got to do Q and A with the audience of a Manos: The Hands of Fate screening sans robots and Joel and had some professional studio shots done with a beautiful Doberman named Zelda. Cannot wait to see those and share them.
<span style="font-family: "arial";">

<span style="font-family: "arial";">

<span style="font-family: "arial"; font-size: 12pt; white-space: pre-wrap;">It is these experiences that keep me feeling so deeply Blessed for the collaborations and friendships created along this unusual path my life follows. Thank you for coming along on this journey.
<span style="font-family: "arial"; font-size: 12pt; white-space: pre-wrap;">

<span style="font-family: "arial"; font-size: 12pt; white-space: pre-wrap;"> <span style="font-family: "arial"; font-size: 12pt; white-space: pre-wrap;">The next phase begins...
Most people I know and meet have no idea who I am in the pop culture or Mystery Science Theater world because it's not relevant to those relationships. I am not recognizable in public and don't carry a sign identifying myself as the little kid from Manos The Hands of Fate.

A couple years ago when I was a special guest at Crypticon Seattle, a woman came to my table and kept looking at the banner on the wall above me with a photo of me as 6 year old Debbie. She would study the photo and then look at me curiously. After the third time of her looking back and forth from the banner to me, I said casually with a shrug, "It's an old photo".

On occasion, the Manos subject works into a conversation in the real world as it did last week at my dental cleaning appointment.
The dental hygenist and I were discussing her move to Oregon from New York and me telling her I had never been East but was traveling to Cleveland soon for the first time. She asked if it was for business and I playfully said, "I'm a pop culture icon in a limited world". She gave a clear "Go on" look so I continued by saying that as a kid, I was in a movie that many describe as the worst movie ever made. Next was another questioning but now slightly skeptical look. "What's it Called?" I replied, "Manos: The Hands of Fate" (Normally, I would ask if the person has heard of Mystery Science Theater first, but we had a dental cleaning to get to.) Her eyes flew wide open. "Wha!? I know that movie!" All in all, an enjoyable experience for me, which is more than many can say about a dental cleaning. She wants to see me again in four months to check on a couple things and we'll have a few Manos happenings to catch up on too.
I am headed to Cleveland and Cinema Wasteland on Thursday
During the 1960's and early 70's, we lived in an adobe house, in El Paso, Texas, with walls over one foot thick that was built in 1887. When my parents bought the house they were told that the builders had placed a coin somewhere in the walls or floor with the year the house was constructed. During one of our endless remodeling projects, a 1887 silver dollar was found in a wall in the back of a closet. That house is still at the top of a hill on North Cotton Street, tucked up tight at the base of Mount Franklin and just below Scenic Drive where the hapless Micheal, Maggie, Debbie family begin their journey to Valley Lodge. As a kid, I would spend an afternoon climbing from our back yard and would go all the way up to that road and the pullout where Debbie states "I'm cold".

We lived just three miles from Juarez Mexico and could see the Rio Grande river from our front porch. The family that lived in the house in the early days were able to watch and hear the battle across the border in March 1911 where the decisive victory of the Mexican Revolution with the capture of Ciudad Juarez occured. I still remember sitting on that porch imagining that family watching the battle as though it were live theater.

My parents were college educated bohemian types. Mom was a teacher who became an administrator who became a Psychologist with another degree in Ministry. My dad, Tom Neyman, who played the part of The Master in "Manos the Hands of Fate" was an artist of many mediums. His work was as Director of the South El Paso Boys Club and the Director of the Festival Community Theater before leaving El Paso, but he was creating every chance he got. In our back yard was the only big tree in our neighborhood, a patio arbor and a small rock house where he had his art studio.
When he was home, he was either making changes to the house or working in the studio. When I was around six years old, my mom and I came home from shopping and she went to hang the laundry on the line only to discover my dad had cut down the poles holding the line because he needed more metal for a piece he was working on.

I loved hanging out, poking around his supplies or simply sitting on a stool watching while being bathed in music like the theme song to Zorba The Greek. Dad painted, sculpted, welded and carved. We would sometimes drive out into the desert in an old electricians truck, named Tobacca Roada from the 40's, searching for things he could include in his work or in the house projects. Weathered wood from a dilapitated shack, railroad ties and nails, or anything that might catch his eye.
One day, as the truck was parked out front, the brake failed and she rolled down the hill and deep into the ditch across the road at the bottom. Dad attached a chain, hauling it back home, and over time, Tobacca Roada succumbed to the welders torch transforming her into art, including the hand rising from the caldron of fire in Manos: The Hands of Fate.

Dad's most beautiful, expressive work was his hand sculptures in bronzed clay, metal and wood. Although his painting was saturated with layer of meaning, his hand sculpture came from the deepest part of his soul. I am now blessed to have one of his sculptures that I cherish. It sits on my dresser where I can be reminded of his talent and our connection through art.

I remember him making the hands in Manos. I watched while he painted The Master's painting and I recall him figuring out and building Torgo's leg braces. I remember the sketches he did for the Masters robe and the laying out and cutting of the fabric. My mother was a very gifted seamstress and gladly worked with him to design and construct the robe. Those were happy times in my childhood I am so blessed that some of the best memories of my youth are immortalized through the famously bad Manos, The Hands of Fate.
As I often say, "If you can't be the best, make the most of being part of the worst"

So. How does a self employed creative person make a living? Although I have, for all my life collaborated with other creative people, I can not say how their financial revenue stream manifests, because I don't know. Of couse, as children, I would assume they were supported by their parents... but how DO artistic humans coalesce the world of practical reality with the place where dreams are made?

I was taught by my parents that if I could think of it, I should at least give it a try. They constantly demonstrated through expressing their own creative ideas in a number of directions. They primarily made their livings as a teacher and a Boys Club director, but all the "not working at a paying job time" was devoted to charity work of addressing poverty, the womens movement, community theater, art and home renovation. Things were contantly in motion in our lives and I understand myself more clearly through the lens of that perspective. I am who I am because of it.

Here are some of, but not all the ways I live my joy, make a living and spend my time.

I teach painting classes and my mission statement is, we are "Kindergardners with Cocktails" The only rules are, "Don't mix up your drink with your paint water" and "you must be like a kindergardner and can't put yourself down" Just play and be in the moment.

I had a long career doing custom painting and faux finishes and still do a few jobs for old clients that don't want to let me go. Cool with me. Pays some bills and keeps me in better shape.

Each episode has five sections represented by the fingers on a hand and will focus on a topic.

The thumb is for our movie trailer reviews where we review and judge two films based on the trailer for that film. Some of the films are older while some are independent and others my be new block busters. We will always give links or suggestions on how you might view the entire film on our Jackey's Hand of Horror facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/handofhorror/

The forefinger is for ideas. It's our Do It Yourself tutorials on everything from the tastiest tarantula recipes to the best way to photograph Bigfoot in the wild.

The middle finger is our interview with interesting and knowledgeable people within our topic for the week. So far we have had the honor to interview

Mike Senna, a builder of BB8, R2D2, Wally and other amazing puppeted robots for the Puppet Episode

Ring finger is for things we love so much we would collect it's hair and keep it under our pillow or bury it in the yard and keep it forever or maybe stalk it on the internet. Ya know...that kind of love.

and the little pinky finger is represented by a childs viewpoint. Young Miss Araidia has got some opinions and is always a delight to chat with.

We are a work in progress and aside from all the challenges for me to go in this new direction and the learning curve, I am happy with where we are going. None of it could be possible without the encouragement and support from Greg Tally and the MST3k Revival League. Thanks especially to Natalie Ryan and Ron McAdams for thier ongoing tech support. Give us a listen and hope you stick around as we learn and grow.
This blog post is entirely about me...which I know a few of these are, considering I am the author and it's about Manos.

Telling you this because I realize that at 58 years old, it's about time to acknowledge my accomplishments out loud.... Well, at least through the written word.

Mystery Science Theater fans and by association, Manos: The Hands of Fate fans are My People. We "get" each other. I have no idea how this perfect juxtapication happened in my life but am forever appreciative of the many intersting and talented people I've met on this incredible Manos journey.

It is a constanty evolving thing that started by connecting with a few fans through chat rooms online in the 1990's. It was fun and I put myself out there to straighten out some of the Manos mythology floating around. Facebook then became the thing and more connections happened. I responded to everything, and for the most part, I still do. Through that, there came offers for projects like participating in the Manos stage production in Portland a few years back. I attended screenings of the restored version of Manos. I decided to start a blog to record my memories and report on current happenings in the Manos world. I was contacted by Playboy magazine for a feature story https://www.playboy.com/articles/the-battle-over-the-worst-movie-ever and Cracked.com http://www.cracked.com/personal-experiences-2150-5-things-i-learned-as-child-star-worst-movie-ever.html for another story. Based on the reaction from readers of this blog, I decided to write a book and found my co author Laura Mazzuca Toops through Facebook. As soon as that was published, I found myself co-writing a script for a sequel film "Manos Returns" with Rachel Jackson and Tonjia Atomic and then a kickstarter to fund the filming. Joe Sherlock came on board with us as a co producer and Director of Photography with Rachel as Assitant Director and Tonjia directing. I acted in two of Joe Sherlock's films https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBIODszjxJ0 and recently a PSA short film for the Soska Sisters Women in Horror Blood Drive with Tonjia and Mi Chelle Nessk directing. The short is titled "Just a Prick" http://bloody-disgusting.com/movie/3480991/soska-sisters-assemble-massive-blood-drive-anthology-women-horror-month/ In between, I was a location coordinator for an upcoming Bigfoot film titled Primal Rage and also played a part, bringing my home and family into it. That film has a national one night screening on Feb 27th and there is a Manos easter egg in the film because the Director of Photography, Jay Lee is a great guy and wanted to do it for me. Let me know when you see the Manos reference when you see the film. http://www.ihorror.com/movie-review-primal-rage/

Now I'm working on a screenplay for a film about the making of Manos. It's looking like it will be pretty funny. As you can just imagine, the story has a great deal of ridiculousness in it. If you don't know how it all went down, read my book. You can order it on Amazon here...https://www.amazon.com/Growing-Up-Manos-Hands-Child/dp/1593939221 or you can order an autographed copy directly from me here (includes shipping within the US) ...<a data-ft="{"tn":"-U"}" data-lynx-mode="async" data-lynx-uri="https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.paypal.me%2FJackeyNeymanJones%2F22&h=ATNDGELRToRnDa2g-kggpSh_vVbgYiufuBShenb38sV1TOchIVWBjjbp2ePfkYxhSvzCCB4qoUw9z13_VLIsKo4nwmrGB1IdTl5Q66GHOiQcfubd4KHZFfYVPHOPPkJS6_NXSn61vuZvBE4lyE35feobUIjBeXSqu7IaxBYW7DA4bfPYZLsHegc9LjXcZ_iE_ceJ6i5zeCbZyk8e2ELau3LIZmDOBTCqmqMpa3Y2pxJUSdI-fjeS1KwuTQ" href="https://www.paypal.me/JackeyNeymanJones/22" rel="noopener nofollow" style="background-color: white; color: #365899; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;" target="_blank">https://www.paypal.me/JackeyNeymanJones/22
I've looked at and studied on other people who are still alive and out in the world who are known for playing a part in a film that either Mystery Science Theater or Rifftrax had given the business to. A few of them embrace the unique sort of fame and others prefer to leave the past in the past and be left alone. I am one of those who embrace this role in pop culture and have been heard to say, "If you can't make the best of it, make the best of the worst". A really crazy thing is that I've been in two riffed films. Manos: The Hand of Fate made famous through MST, and The Curse of Bigfoot, a lesser title with Rifftrax. They had no relation to one another at all, and for me were about ten years apart in different parts of the country. One in Texas and the other in California, but my dad was a factor in both.
Although Manos has taken me places, I have yet to be invited to conventions or screening of Curse of Bigfoot and thats just fine. The truth of that one is, I've never watched it all the way through because it really is just so awful. I'm just an extra in one scene anyway, but still, weird. Another odd thing is that now because of my association with Manos, I am appearing in another bigfoot film. This time, it's a really good film and I have more screen time, as Vera, a woman hosting a tipi ceremony at her home. It will have a one night premiere through Fathom Events. Very worth checking out. Find Primal Rage: The Legend of OhMa at a theater near you for Tuesday night February 27th https://www.amctheatres.com/movies/primal-rage-bigfoot-reborn-55908 Check out the trailer here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gDpTCpJ5Mk

The opportunities that have come from being part of Manos and the people I've met are an astoundingly surreal experience. An experience which I am just now settling into, as many of the projects which have come my way are coming to fruition all at once.

I got to be a judge for the 15 second Horror Film Challange this year and it was absolutely an incredible experience. A film in 15 seconds? What!? Just loved viewing them over and over and pairing it down to my favorites. Again...an entire film in 15 seconds? Check it out and if you are a filmmaker or aspiring to be one, this is worth thinking about. Enter next year. http://15secondhorror.ca/

Gonna say Debbie Comic Book and leave that right there just like that for a bit. Soon, very soon.

...and I believe that by this time next week, we'll have more news on our sequel film Manos Returns and where it will be premiering.

If you are close by these places, please come visit with me at https://www.cinemawasteland.com/cinemashow/guests.html in Cleveland Ohio and https://www.meadowlarkcomiccon.com/guests in Medford Oregon.
